The SKillAIbility project uses multidisciplinary methodologies and continuous dialogue with businesses and workers to provide concrete tools that address the challenges posed by digital transformation. The project aims to contribute to a more equitable, sustainable and competitive manufacturing sector.

The contemporary manufacturing industry is currently undergoing dual digital and green transitions intended to strengthen the resilience of value chains and promote reshoring strategies. Against this backdrop, the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is raising growing concerns about the future of work, fuelling fears of job displacement and exacerbating social inequalities, particularly among the most vulnerable groups.

This initiative aligns with the principles of Industry 5.0, seeking to foster a human-centred approach to assessing digital technologies. The researcher will play a key role in analysing the impact of AI on professional skills, developing models of human-machine complementarity and formulating strategies to boost employability and social inclusion.
